The Upper Dublin School Board decided to begin re-examining its current wellness policy at its March 14 meeting, saying the policy does not set high enough standards and it lacks specific guidelines to ensure the policy is followed.
The topic of health and wellness — specifically the nutrition of district food offerings — has been a continual topic of discussion at recent board meetings, with several parents complaining about cafeteria options. Representatives from parent organizations, such as Nutrition in the Schools and the nutrition advisory committee, also have said the district is not doing enough to implement its recommendations for food service.

I support changes to the district wellness policy regarding school lunches.
