The 10-month-old initiative, with a mission to improve healthy choices for students, is one step closer to its goals after Saladworks agreed to host a fundraiser.
Upper Dublin residents may have not yet heard about the “Nutrition in the Schools” initiative, but if all goes according to plan, it will be bringing big changes to the area before too long.
“The premise is that we want to get freshly prepared meals in school versus the highly processed foods,” said founder Jill Florin, at a fundraiser in Saladworks on January 28. “And also have continuous education in nutrition from kindergarten through 12th grade. That’s our mission.”
